I got thrown by the fact that a much regarded source seemingly had a “clone”. In fact my fears were unfounded – they’re both from the same group. So this explains Tom’s Guide leaving Tom’s Hardware to focus on more esoteric or specialist topics – I’ll start following it and share anything of interest.
