  I have finally decided to get a new MacbookAir and a new Iphone SE (and not break the bank)!
  
  I spent two hours on the phone to Apple helpdesk, who scratched their heads and could not find any way of speeding up my computer. The only thing they could think of was obsolescence. Well, I didn’t need to waste two hours of my time to know that. My laptop is more than 8 years old, so it’s time to take the plunge. Apple have 24 month 0% interest deals on offer, so I am going for it.

  Good call. The new MacBook Air gets very good reviews and as you know I rate the new iPhone SE highly, as do many reviewers. I suspect you’ll get another 6+ years out of the laptop, and at least 5 years out of the phone – possibly longer.

[12/12/24] Some of the Forums (or is that Fora) have been renamed to map onto Signal groups

[16/07/23] Creation of Apple pie (renamed Mac matters) and Android alert forums. Re-focus of Google gossip towards apps.

[15/01/23] Some of the Forums have been renamed, some Topics have been moved to be in new Forums under a Parent Forum, eg Hardware and Software. Hopefully this will make navigation, and finding a Topic easier, and also make it easier to find the right place to start a new Topic.

[28/04/20] It’s a good idea to provide Tags for your Topic, and also for your Replies – it helps you, and others, to find things.

[27/04/20] I like to check the Notifications box to get an email telling me when someone has replied to a Topic (or my Reply to a Topic) but you can’t reply to the email – you can only Reply in the Topic. It’s just a Notification.
