      I keep getting these messages re anti spam software, which I ignore.Am I correct to ignore them, and how do I stop receiving them ?

      I think you probably should ignore these messages. The tried and tested way of seeing if it’s genuine, which I can’t from your attachment (which I’m going to add below as a graphic for everyone else – rather than a PDF which has to be downloaded), is to hover over the From address in the email header. If it isn’t from @google.com it’s most certainly a scam.

      I regret to report that my attempt to remove the malware from my laptop resulted in it completely crashing, and failing to restart. My local Penarth Mr Fixit TM Computers has had it for two days, having to remove everything and install a new version of Windows 10 (I am £59 worse off) but I am now back up and running, with it seems also new versions of Office. So not all bad.

      That’s bad news indeed David. Really sorry to hear about it. So it was indeed malware as we thought.

      I hope you didn’t lose anything too important for your machine. Hopefully, a backup? Or perhaps Mr FixIT was able to do that before he rebuilt the machine.
