  Hi, I always knew that as I grew old I’d start to lose my faculties and become more doddery. However, nobody ever warned me that I’d lose the ability to be able to open jam jars. Well, after many years of frustration; even popping to the guy next door….the one with the Taekwondo black belt, I finally came up with the answer.   Well thanks for that Phil. We can add to the list of helpful tools with this one to open jars without electricity – the JarKey
  
  … absolutely works like a dream by breaking the vacuum in the jar created when the bottling was done, and then we have an electric (battery) can opener that works like a dream for anyone whose hands/wrists are a little bit challenged – the Culinare C50600 One Touch Electronic Tin Opener, White, Plastic/Stainless Steel, Automatic Can Opener

[12/12/24] Some of the Forums (or is that Fora) have been renamed to map onto Signal groups

[16/07/23] Creation of Apple pie (renamed Mac matters) and Android alert forums. Re-focus of Google gossip towards apps.

[15/01/23] Some of the Forums have been renamed, some Topics have been moved to be in new Forums under a Parent Forum, eg Hardware and Software. Hopefully this will make navigation, and finding a Topic easier, and also make it easier to find the right place to start a new Topic.

[28/04/20] It’s a good idea to provide Tags for your Topic, and also for your Replies – it helps you, and others, to find things.

[27/04/20] I like to check the Notifications box to get an email telling me when someone has replied to a Topic (or my Reply to a Topic) but you can’t reply to the email – you can only Reply in the Topic. It’s just a Notification.
